2014-2015 Veterans Benefits Fair Schedule

Austin-BF-Web-Only

Every year the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) co-hosts Veterans Benefits Fairs across the state of Texas. In partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Texas Veterans Commission (TVC), VLB staff members travel around the state to talk with Texas veterans, military members and spouses, about their benefits in person.

These benefits fairs are free “come and go” events that promote various resources available to Texas veterans including land, home and home improvement loans, as well as Texas State Veterans Homes and Cemeteries. Representatives from the VA and TVC are there to answer questions about things like disability and pension claims, and health care, employment and education benefits.

On Saturday, September 20 the VA, VLB, TVC and other state veterans offices will serve and support veterans at the Austin Veterans Outpatient Clinic during a Special Welcome Home Health, Wellness & Benefits Fair. This special event will include programs focused on women veterans, homeless veterans, and military families and caregivers. There will be health care information regarding mental health, vocational rehabilitation, primary care, nursing, prosthetics and more. Liaisons from the TVC Texas Veterans Health Care Strike Force Team will collaborate with the VLB to assist Texas veterans in navigating the VA health care system. Assistance from the Health Care Strike Force Team is available to all veterans and all services are free of charge. Preregister online for a one-on-one consultation.
